The practical effects in the film are the film's biggest strengths. Hatchet 3 is a horror movie that uses CG effects less than many other films. Hatchet 3 has a number of makeup effects that are practical and sets that result in some truly terrifying scenes throughout the film.

The cast gives a solid performance with Kane Hodder being the most intimidating villain. The dialogue is hilarious and cheeky that it could be like a classic 1980s horror film. Additionally, there are some really funny moments throughout that offer humor against the horror-inducing action.

Unfortunately, due to the small budget (1 million dollars), many of the locations are duplicates from earlier films. The boat house in Hatchet 2 was used only once, and the remainder of the footage seems like it's been duplicated from previous films. It's almost like it's familiar to viewers who have seen Hatchet or Hatchet 2.

Overall, Hatchet 3 was enjoyable, even (click clips) though it felt very similar in tone to previous entries within the series. It was filled with thrilling thrills and some entertaining performances from its cast members.
